Check out Invisalign for better tooth alignment

Irregular tooth alignment not just makes it difficult for one to chew but also leaves one with low self esteem. Many people go for metal wires and braces to align their tooth, which of course creates uneasiness and also deface the general appearance of patients’ face and teeth. To do away with all these issues one could resort to advanced orthodontics treatment procedure – a clear tooth aligner, Invisalign, which are invisible braces.

Invisalign provides a series of clear, removable templates that fit over the teeth. Generated by computer simulation, they gradually move the teeth and correct bite problems. Dr.Balasubramanya K.V. Periodontist & Laser Practitioner at Sakra World Hospitals, Bengaluru said: “Invisalign, an invisible brace for those patients who find the idea of a mouthful of metal braces and brackets too unattractive. Invisalign is a modern approach to straightening teeth. These aligners are comfortable, and invisible that you can wear over your teeth and are made just for you. There are no brackets to attach or metal wires to tighten; they just gradually and gently shift the teeth into position. These clear plastic aligners help you give you a perfect smile without anyone knowing that you are straightening your teeth.”

Unlike the traditional metal braces where the Orthodontists had to go through a long procedure – take the measurement of the tooth and then prepare the braces which required time and are bit uncomfortable, the Invisalign are invisible, removable, so patients can eat and drink what you want during the treatment, besides being able to brush and floss normally. The best part of this treatment procedure is that adjustments are quicker and treatment time is usually short and since the movements are planned by computer, they are more efficient.

Moreover as there are no metal wires or sharp brackets to irritate your cheeks or tongue, patients feel much more comfortable. Other advantages of Invisalign includes- lower the risk of tooth decay or tooth damage from braces as there are no brackets to catch food or plaque. The added comfort and absence of sharp metal brackets makes it much easier to play woodwind and brass musical instruments. It is also ideal for teenagers involved in sports. As the Invisalign are invisible, no one can even make out that they are straightening their teeth, further added Dr. Balasubramanya.
