IIT Delhi alumni’s Roposo.com scaling greater heights as fashion search engine
Women and fashion have always been the two inseparable aspects- be it clothing, bags, shoes, jewelleries or other accessories. Of all, the new age technology has made things all the more easier – shopping is just a click away. In terms of fashion search engine Roposo.com has been scaling greater heights within a short span of time. Founded by three IIT Delhi alumni, Mayank Bhangadia, Avinash Saxena (ex CTO of Zomato.com) and Kaushal Shubhank, Roposo.com is India’s first fashion focused social network that allows women to discover and shop new products, and trends are liked, curated, personalized and updated every day from across online brands and e-commerce portals.
It would be hard to believe but Roposo.com, the unique search engine for fashion addicts is growing at a rate 250% every month and is likely to be a world leader in fashion search. Speaking to Techspirit Mr. Avinash Saxena, Co-founder and Product Head, Roposo.com said: “Our target audience is every woman ageing between 18-35 years, who lives on the internet and is a pure fashion lover. It is amazing to see such gratifying response from women all across the country. Roposo is creating over 20 lakh consumer touch point in a single day with the power of suggestion and search in the online space. Fashion discovery is an untouched space in India and our technology team has come up with unique ways to make this search highly intuitive.”
Roposo.com, a brand of Relevant E-solutions, head quartered in Gurgaon, Delhi was founded in 2013 . When asked about how did they came up with the idea, Avinash said: “The idea was to focus on basic fashion needs of a woman and then provide them with products based on their tastes and preferences. Roposo is a data-driven smart-shopping platform, specialising in search and discovery of products from anywhere on the web. You can look at it as a fashion match-maker; we get products from web stores and brands available online like Koovs, Jabong, Asos etc. and then we match it with the taste of a user.”
Further relating about their journey in the making of roposo.com he said: “At core, we are a data company we understand what a particular user needs and then match her requirements to the available products that are also viable to the current and that she may like. We look out for the best talent and our team is comprised of very sound people in fashion and technology, so the challenge is to get the finest people out here.”
Recently, roposo.com has also entered the m-commerce industry and is keenly looking at exploring opportunities and reach out to the target audience effectively. “Our immediate plans are around encouraging our audience to use the mobile app and be a stylist in their own right”, further added Avinash.
