Mobile blood Bank Locator App launched

Getting blood at the needed time is one of the most difficult task, especially when one is faced with a grim accident and is in dire need of blood. Working towards solving this problem, the central government has come up a new Mobile blood Bank Locator App. The App has been launched to promote easy access of information regarding the nearest blood bank in the country.

The National Blood Transfusion Council has made available directory of all 2760 licensed blood banks at National Health Portal. To begin with the data of all 76 blood banks in Delhi, NCR and 524 blood banks from across the country has been made available and the process of uploading data of remaining licensed blood banks in the country is under process and will be made available soon.

The initaitive has been a part of the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO),the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the National Blood Transfusion Council (NBTC) to commemorate world’s blood donors day.
